The first prayer request is for a day of safe travel from San Antonio to Honduras. The journey will begin for us at 5am with the first flight. Our arrival in Honduras will be in San Pedro Sula at about noon. In early afternoon we will drive in a caravan of four vehicles for about two hours to La Entrada, our home base for the week.
Saturday evening will bring our team and the local church priest (together with his family) together for dinner and planning.
Sunday morning part of our team will visit the famous ruins at the archaeological park in Copan Ruinas; others will visit a remote village church in the morning for worship. Sunday afternoon, the team will be reunited in Chalmeca for a celebration of the Eucharist with the people whom we will serve in our mission next week.
Our Saturday and Sunday Prayer request: safe travel.
O God, our heavenly Father, whose glory fills the whole
creation, and whose presence we find wherever we go: Preserve
those who travel in particular the Mission Team of Christ Church; surround
them with your loving care; protect them from every danger;
and bring them in safety to their journey's end; through
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

ReplyDeleteBest wishes and faithful prayers for a blessed, successful and joyful mission. In copan ruinas, say hello to my friends at the small private school. They are right next to the ruins. They will be happy to see you, the teaching is in english. I was supposed to work there in 2004 but went on the mexican border instead. They also work for free. Dont forget to sample the local coffee!
